Advanced Cardiac Life Support

 

 

 

The ASHI ACLS™ curriculum is approved for training of Emergency Medical Services personnel in most states, has been accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Additionally ASHI ACLS has been found acceptable for meeting requirements established by a wide variety of professional associations, councils, academies, and medical boards. The curriculum is consistent with widely accepted guidelines for professional level cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including the American Heart Association in collaboration with Internal Liaison Committee on Resuscitation, Guidelines 2000 for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care: International Consensus on Science Circulation. ©2000;102 (suppl 1) American Heart Association®, Inc.

 

Requirements for Course Completion

Given a patient situation, perform competently in the management of each of the following situations:

Respiratory Arrest

Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

Pulseless Ventricular Tachycardia/Ventricular Fibrillation

Asystole

Pulseless Electrical Activity

Acute Coronary Syndromes

Bradycardia & AV Blocks

Unstable Tachycardia

Stable Tachycardia

Acute Ischemic Stroke

Cardiac Arrest Management

Given a patient situation, perform competently as a team leader for a simulated cardiac arrest, physically demonstrating the delivery of all electrical interventions.

 

Written Examination.

Obtain a minimum score of 80% in a closed book, multiple-choice written examination.
