American Heart Association eLearning (Online CPR)

The American Heart Association has developed a combination online/skills testing BLS CPR training course. Do not confuse this course with the scam online CPR classes that are on the internet. This is an official American Heart Association certified training course. Students take part of the course over the computer, then they practice and are tested on the skills by an AHA instructor. After completing both portions, the student will receive the BLS for Healthcare providers certification card. View the schedule for upcoming courses or see below for a demonstration.

Frequently Asked Questions About CPR & BLS Certification Courses

Who issues the CPR cards?
The cards are issued by the American Heart Association. This is an important question since there are many CPR training companies in the SJ Bay Area who issue their own cards that are not accepted. The AHA is the most widely accepted certification card in the USA. If your card is not accepted, we will issue a full refund.

When do I receive the card?
Students are handed out the CPR or BLS card at the end of the training course. Since Safety Training Seminars is an official BLS Training School, the cards are handed out right way. Other CPR Training Schools in San Jose who are not a training center, must process the cards and then mail them out which can take up to 30 days. If you like receiving your card right away, register for a class with us.

When do I pay for the course?
Keep your money in your pocket until the course. With us, you do not pay until you actually show up and take the class. Everyone has busy schedules and sometimes you miss the course that you signed up for. Don’t worry. If you took a class with us, you are in luck. Other CPR companies in the Bay Area demand that you prepay for the course with a credit card. If you cancel, you are out of luck since you have to pay again. I just think that is unfair.

Which CPR class should I take?
Heartsaver CPR is appropriate for people in the following professions: parents, grandparents, social workers, foster care parents in California, fitness or aerobic instructors, personal trainers who need their ACE certification, school and child care teachers, babysitters, aupairs.

BLS is a course for those entering or currently in the health care professions such as CNAs, nurses, nursing students, lifeguards, physical therapists, dentists, etc.

I want to take an Online First-aid and CPR Training. Are these acceptable?
Online courses are an internet scam that has been around for a few years. These courses are not accepted for any job since there is no practice on manikins, no instructor, no videos or reading, and no tests. How this scam works: Someone is required to have a CPR certification card for work. They see an ad on the internet and go to a website. This person pays $40-$60, and then print out a card from their home computer within 5 minutes. Does that seem like a real CPR certification class? Don’t get scammed. Take an official First-aid or CPR class with the American Heart Association.

Book Policy
All students are required to have the appropriate textbook for the American Heart Association classes. If you are taking a Heartcode eLearning class, you do not need to buy a textbook.
