I Registered for the Wrong CPR Class. What Should I Do Now?

I signed up for the Heartsaver CPR Class and need the BLS Class.

BLS Renewal Classes Antioch, CA

If you are in the medical or healthcare field, you must take the American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider course. On our website, before you register for the Heartsaver CPR class, there is a message that states: Do not register for this class if you are in medical or healthcare field. Also in the body of the description, it states that the Heartsaver CPR class is not for medical or healthcare professionals. If this is not clear, please let us know and we can make the necessary changes on the website.

However, we understand that some people just see CPR, are in hurry, and do not read through the description. Some students ask us if they can just receive the BLS card. We cannot do that, because we would lose our license to teach CPR classes. However, if you have taken the Heartsaver CPR class and actually need the BLS class, bring in the Heartsaver certification card, give to the instructor, and you can pay half price ($40). This offer is valid for up to 3 months after you have taken the wrong class.

I signed up for the Heartsaver CPR & First class and I need the Pediatric CPR & First-aid course. I work in a child care center and need the EMSA approved certification card.

Bay Area Pediatric First-aid card

Before you register for the Heartsaver CPR & First-aid class, it states that you should not register for the class if you are in the childcare field. EMSA has very strict rules that child care providers must take the EMSA approved Pediatric CPR and First-aid class which is 8 hours long. Please let me know if the website description is not clear so I can fix it.

You can register for the Pediatric CPR and First-aid class, bring in your Heartsaver CPR and First-aid card and pay half price ($70 instead of $140.). This offer is valid for within 3 months after registering for the wrong class.

I signed up for the ACLS or PALS eLearning course, but I want to switch to the regular course.

Some people prefer taking the ACLS or PALS eLearning courses and some people prefer taking the regular classroom version of the courses. It is a personal decision depending on your preference and schedule. The American Heart Association does not offer refunds once someone has activated a key. The Paypal invoice and the website state this policy, so the recommendation is to finish the eLearning course.

If you really want to switch to take a regular course, you have a few options.

1. If you have not yet activated the key.
Call us. We can revoke your key and give you a full refund. Then, you can sign up for the regular classroom course.

2. If you have activated your key.
There are no refunds for the course key (per the website and Paypal invoice)
Price of the ACLS or PALS eLearning Course: $260 ($120 for the key, $140 for the skills testing).
This means we can issue a refund of $140 for the skills testing. Then, you can go to the website to register for the regular classroom version.

Please call us if you have any questions: 415-437-1600.

Thanks, Charles
